Best day trip in Maui......  1) Rent a jeep and remove the top   2) Get up early, make some coffee and add mochaTonix® (this will wake you up) , pack some water and snacks  3) wear something you don't mind getting wet  3) Apply lots of sunscreen (you will be glad you did)  4) Make sure you have a tank full of gas   5) stop in Paia for breakfast (order macademia nut pancakes with pineapple syrup (hint, if you order a full stack, you will have a great snack later)  6) Keep your eyes peeled- the scenery is breath taking. Once the curves start, you won't be traveling at too high a speed.  Be sure and stop at the waterfalls and enjoy the rain forest.  The black sand beach, the roadside stands, tropical flower farms, and of course the one lane bridges.  It's a lot like Mr. Toad's wild ride at Disneyworld, but fun.  Once you get to Hana, you should stop in at the Hana Hotel.  They have a very nice restroom and by now you may need to use the facilities.  The locals are friendly and will offer you lots of advice on what to do/see.  Ask for directions to the nude beach.  It is quite the trek.   If you are still willing to travel a little further, the road gets narrower, and even disappears for a bit. (You are traveling around Haleakala crater)  Stop into the State Park for a rest before returning to your hotel. If you dare, keep going around the island. The views are spectacular.  (Not for the weak, the roads are very narrow) Either way, when you return to your hotel, you will be exhausted from all the fun.
